For our next season, we are continuing with our composer’s cabaret series (this year we are presenting Stephen Schwartz), a dinner theatre show, and a main musical. However, not only do we want to provide great quality theatre, but we want to begin propelling and motivating aspiring performers in their craft. This season we have added a development-focused cabaret entitled This Is the Moment, which will focus on bringing performers to the next level with their artistry.

This year’s composer’s cabaret series will centre around Stephen Schwartz. With a consistent career spanning over four decades, Schwartz has cemented himself as a one of the backbone composers and lyricists of musical theatre. He has written hit musicals such as Godspell, Pippin, and Wicked. He contributed lyrics to blockbusters The Prince of Egypt and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
From “Popular” to “Day by Day”, there’s a number sure to wet your whistle and get your toes tapping! We hope you will join us as we celebrate one of Broadway’s masterminds.

The internationally popular game is now a fun-filled musical that brings the world’s best-known suspects to life and invites the audience to help solve the mystery: who killed Mr. Boddy, in what room, and with what weapon. The audience receives forms to help them deduce the solution from clues given throughout the fun-filled evening. Three audience members choose from cards representing the potential murderers, weapons, and rooms; there are 216 possible solutions! Only one hard-nosed female detective is qualified to unravel the merry mayhem. Comic antics, witty lyrics, and a beguiling score carry the investigation from room to room. Even after the culprit confesses, a surprise twist delights the audience. This colourful crowd-pleaser was devised by the authors of Murder at Rutherford House and other popular interactive entertainments.

“This Is the Moment” is Lost Baggage Musical Theatre’s first show with a specific intent on developing performers. The goal of this new cabaret series is to educate and advance performers while also providing an enthralling, entertaining show for audience members.
Those interested in performing will come to auditions with the song they want to sing in the final cabaret show. They will be auditioned by a panel of three local, professional vocal coaches. Each vocal coach will take 4-6 students to work with and develop over the course of the two months leading up to the show. Performers will then have a chance to showcase their progress in multiple cabaret shows in different venues across the city.
- Vocal Coaches TBD
- Accompanied by Rebecca Dunk
