General Information
LBMT’s Quarantunes Cabaret has a name name: Baggage Claim Cabaret – Where performers claim their song and stage! The show concept follows the same design as the original series, and the show tunes in the cabaret still revolve around a theme. So what’s the theme, you ask? This year’s theme is Valentines Day! We are looking for songs sung by lovers like “On the Street Where You Live” (My Fair Lady), “The Man I Love” (Strike Up the Band), “If I Loved You” (Carousel), “Losing My Mind” (Follies), “Someone Like You” (Jekyll & Hyde), “I’m Not That Girl” (Wicked), and “This Nearly Was Mine” (South Pacific).
To participate is simple – pick a love-themed show tune that you have been dying to perform or one that you simply belt out in the car and prepare it for an audition. That’s right, YOU pick the song that you want to sing in the show! We are looking to cast 16 performers (2 teams of 8). Everyone cast will meet two to four times with one or two of our performance coaches to fine-tune performances and bring them to the next level. Additionally, performers will participate in an ensemble number consisting of the entire cast and one with just the other members of their team.
Regular rehearsals will take place at Riverview School of Music (480 Avalon Place) in the Alta-Vista area of Ottawa starting around January 4. Rehearsals will be held on Monday/Friday evenings and/or Saturday mornings. The show will be presented to in-person audiences for 3 performances from February 13 – 15 at Trinity Church Of the Nazarene.
