Lost Baggage Musical Theatre
At LBMT, we believe that the theatre is for everyone. Our mandate is to diversify musical theatre performance in Ottawa and bring more musical theatre to the city’s east-end. We strive to create rehearsal and performance spaces that allow for individuals to freely create and participate in without fear of scrutiny or harassment.

Dance Like No One’s Watching
A Musical Theatre Dance Showcase
Dance Like No One’s Watching returns as Lost Baggage Musical Theatre’s second full-scale dance showcase, bringing the same electrifying energy with an even bolder, more expansive vision. This unique cabaret experience flips the script on traditional musical theatre cabarets by putting dance front and centre, celebrating movement as storytelling, expression, and connection.
This year’s production features an eclectic and dynamic setlist, blending musical theatre favourites with original songs by local bands and singer-songwriters, each brought to life through movement and choreography. Audiences can expect a rich mix of styles including contemporary, jazz, tap, ballroom, hip-hop, and musical theatre dance, woven together through high-energy ensemble numbers, intimate small-group pieces, and powerful solo moments.

Evil Dead
Info Night and Film Screening
Deadites, demons, and dismemberment are coming to LBMT! Join us for an Evil Dead Info Night featuring a behind-the-scenes look at our upcoming production of Evil Dead: The Musical, followed by a screening of the original cult-classic film that started it all.
The evening will begin with the creative team sharing their vision for the production, offering insight into the show’s style, music, humour, and over-the-top horror. Whether you’re interested in auditioning, joining the production team, or simply curious about the show, this is a great opportunity to learn more and ask questions. Following the info session, we’ll screen the original The Evil Dead film: the low-budget horror classic that introduced audiences to Ash Williams, the Book of the Dead, and one of horror’s most beloved franchises.
Based on Sam Raimi’s iconic horror films, Evil Dead: The Musical follows five college students who travel to a remote cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an ancient evil. What follows is a wildly chaotic blend of horror, comedy, outrageous gore, and catchy musical numbers that has earned the show a devoted cult following around the world.

New Life
An Original Musical
Book, Music, and Lyrics by James McGowan
This jazz-rock-blues musical set in 2010 is a story about a woman rebuilding herself and her family after her abusive husband dies. Her
family of three adult kids—Alexandra (Alex), oldest; Robert (Robbie), middle child; Stephanie (Steph), youngest—and her minister each
bring lots of baggage on this trip. The story is set partly in the country and partly in the city, which is about one-to-two hours away. The
story tackles topics of intimate-partner abuse, child abuse, family dysfunction, alcoholism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, cultural differences between rural and urban life, tradition vs. change, personal growth, spiritual faith, and the Easter resurrection analogy.
