Kick off your journey toward our season-ending dance cabaret with a night of creativity, movement, and fun! Dance Like No One’s Watching, directed by Jesse Kahat and Andrew Wiseman, will take place May 22 & 23, 2026 at Studio Léonard-Beaulne (University of Ottawa – 135 Séraphin-Marion Private).
This showcase is open to all performers: experienced dancers, casual movers, and anyone who loves musical theatre. You’ll get a chance to learn about the variety of dance styles included in this year’s production and how each number will be shaped around storytelling, emotion, and movement.
Alongside classic showtune-based numbers, this edition of the cabaret will also include choreography set to songs by featured, local singer-songwriters. Performers will have the chance to work on pieces crafted specifically for these original tracks, bringing fresh artistic voices to the stage.
INFO SESSION AT 7PM: Hear directly from the directors about the themes, creative concepts, and vision behind the show. You’ll learn what to expect in terms of style, rehearsal approach, and how performers of all levels can contribute to the final production.
DANCE PARTY AT 8PM: After the info session, we’re turning the space into a full-on dance party – lights, loud music, and total freedom to move however you like. Mingle with the creative team, meet potential castmates, and enjoy free appetizers while you dance like no one’s watching.
