- Sunday, September 11: 6:30pm, and 7:30pm
- Audition Location: Riverview School of Music (480 Avalon Place)
While it is preferable that you audition in-person, if you are not available for any of these audition dates please select “Not Available” on the audition form. We will contact you to arrange for a video audition.
The audition will take place in three parts: song/vocal, read/acting, and choreography/dance. The vocal and acting portions will be conducted individually and the dance portion will be done in small groups.
For the song/vocal portion, please prepare a cut (1-2 minutes) of a musical theatre song that best demonstrates your vocal abilities. You will need to bring sheet music for the pianist to play as you sing. If possible, please print the song double-sided on 8.5×11 paper and have it hole-punched.
You will receive a short scene that you will be asked to read during your audition. It will be a cold read, meaning that we will not be giving out the sides/scripts in advance. We recommend coming 15 minutes early to your audition so that you have a chance to read over the sides beforehand. You may be given further instruction about the scene by the director at your audition. Please Note: You do not need to memorize the scene.
A dance/movement segment of the audition will be required for all those auditioning. Please come wearing dance appropriate clothing, as you will not be able to change at the audition. If you’re not an experienced dancer, there is no need to worry! The dance itself will be quite basic and will allow the show directors to see how you move on stage.
A session of callback auditions may be held at the discretion of the artistic team and may only require certain individuals. They are not an indication of whether you have been accepted in the program. Callbacks may not be required if the artistic team does not feel they are necessary.
Please submit the application form to book your audition for the program. Please note that all applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the program.
